Unexpected Ways to Practice Stoicism for a Blissful Life

8 Ways to Practice Stoicism for a Calmer, Happier Life

Stoicism is a philosophical way of life people have practiced since 300.BC. It builds up and strengthens a person’s character and mental well-being.

The stoic person is peaceful, calm, grateful and confident in any situation. They accept their life circumstances and try to make the best of it.

A true stoic won’t judge situations as good or bad. They know it’s only our perception of events that creates that illusion.

A stoic person is a brave, peaceful soul, calm, courageous, grateful and confident in any situation.

A Brief History of Stoicism

The term “Stoic” comes from the “stoa poikile” which means a “painted porch” or “colonnade”. Zeno of Citium founded stoicism in Athens around 300 B.C.  Zeno taught his students at a colonnade.

Stoicism blew-up and became so popular that even Emperors were becoming Stoics!

Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius was a well-known stoic emperor of that time.

If you choose to become more stoic you will gain dignity, strength and confidence. You can become more stoic by following daily exercises. They will strengthen your character and improve your mental well-being.

The Main Virtues of Stoicism

  1. Wisdom: having experience, knowledge, insights and good judgment.
  2. Temperance: moderation in everything.
  3. Justice: fair treatment for all people.
  4. Courage: facing all challenges with integrity.

Practice the following stoic exercises for a happier life.

1. Turn Your Problems into Positivity

Uncomfortable situations will happen in life. You’re not torturing your enemy by obsessing about them every day.

Everything you see around you is what you’re perceiving. Perception is how we interpret the things going on around us.

Sometimes we let our emotions take over. We get angry and lash out at loved ones or we get depressed and don’t want to talk to anyone. We blame the situation or people, but in reality it’s our judgments of those scenarios that make our emotions explode.

Our emotions don’t change because of situations, but by our perceptions of the circumstances.

2. Be Mindful of Your Thoughts and Actions

A stoic must take control of his thoughts before he can control his behaviors. They must train themselves to take their power back from the subconscious instead of going along for the ride.  They learn to become conscious of what they’re thinking and what they are doing every day.

3. Journal

We shouldn’t try to fight against the universe when it serves us something we don’t like. The best solution is to accept the circumstances and move along. It is beneficial to write out how you feel.

Epictetus taught his students that they should write about life every day.

Review your day before you go to sleep and you’ll have amazing, restful sleep and make better choices the next day.

4. Don’t Worry About Things You Have No Control Over.

It’s self-sabotage to worry about things you can’t change, control, or influence.

Inside your realm of control, you’ll find your thoughts and your behaviors. You won’t find the result of your effort.

You can pour your blood, sweat, and tears over a project, but that still doesn’t guarantee it’ll be a winner. Accept that, but keep striving to reach your peak success. Know the outcome is not in your control.

True stoic empowerment begins when we re-direct our focus towards what we can charge.

5. Practice Going Through Hard Times

Stoicism is often described as “the endurance of hardships without emotion or complaints.” It’s a lot easier to go through hard times if you’ve done it before.

Imagine the worst case scenario occurring. What would be your next steps? How would you deal with it?

Practice being uncomfortable.

Put yourself in situations that you fear could happen to you. Pretend you are poor, alone, cold or hungry. The better you get at being uncomfortable, the less of hold situations will have on you. Therefore, making you a stronger person because of it.

This exercise helps us prepare for our future of inevitable setbacks. We learn that mistakes are simply another part of life and nothing to fear.

The sooner you accept that life isn’t always fair, the faster your transformation can take place.

6. Love Everything About Your Life (even the bad parts)

Accept your circumstances, and not fight against everything that happens. Think of a terrible time in your past, and find the hidden benefit or lesson, you got from it.

Learn to not only be okay with the negative event, but grateful for it, love it and be better because of it.

7. Take The View From Above

Let’s say you’re floating around the Earth on the ISS (International Space Station). If you looked out your window, you’d see an amazing site -The Earth. You’d also be looking down at 7.5 billion complex, emotional human lives. It was on this planet that all wars, weddings, divorces, births, deaths (that we know of) have happened.

You are a tiny fragment in this world, and you’re only here for a short time. Take a step back from your own world and remind yourself of your duty to help others.

8. Memento Mori: Think About Your Death

Seneca taught that we should not forget about our inevitable deaths. We should remember that when we go to sleep, there’s a chance that we might never wake up again.

This helps us to think about our mortality, so we don’t waste our days away with mindless activities. Imagining that you have 6 months to live would give you the urgency to reach your potential before your time is up.

Ways to Practice Stoicism in Your Everyday Life

  • Journal every night before bed.
  • Fast for a day to practice misfortune.
  • Don’t let external circumstances or people affect you.
  • Practice moderation. No excess of anything.
  • Refrain from drama and embrace logic.
  • Remember how tiny you are so you can keep perspective.

Check out this YouTube to see what Tim Ferriss thinks about stoicism.

In the end, it’s not what happens to us, but what our reactions are that matter. Stoics are experts at controlling their detrimental emotions.

Stoicism teaches us to prepare for any situation. Life is like a roller-coaster. Some days you’re on top of the world and everything is working out.

Others … not so much.

Remember to always strive to reach your peak success, but know the outcome is out of your control. Don’t waste away your days, life is short. Imagine your days are numbered and you’ve got to carry out your goals before your time is up!

10 Steps to Achieve Enlightenment

Enlightenment empowers you to live a happier, more peaceful, fulfilling life of your choosing. It also enables you to finally release the fears and doubts that have held you back in life.

Enlightened ones are reaching their fullest potential in all aspects of life. You can see they’ve have gained a high level of understanding who they are and the purpose of their existence.

Those who have been enlightened know that many of our perceptions have been distorted, by the illusions created by society, religions, media, parents, and our government. Enlightenment helps us to see past the delusions.

The subconscious is naive. It will believe what it is shown or told repeatedly.

So, if you imagine that you suck at life and no one likes you, you will believe it is true because the subconscious believes it. In fact, our subconscious will make it true by directing your decisions.

When you are enlightened you will have have unbreakable inner-peace and confidence in every situation.

Enlightenment isn’t just for Buddhist monks, we can all become more enlightened if we practice these 10 steps.

1. Start with the desire to become enlightened

Write out why you would like to be enlightened? What would you like to achieve with your enlightened state?

Shake off any fear of change that has been holding you back. Change is good, accept that you will change for the better.

2. Prepare yourself for your transformation

Teach yourself how to relax.

You can meditate, practice yoga or do relaxation techniques so you can learn to make your brain default to being relaxed, rather than reactionary and illogical.

3. Realize that there is no escaping yourself

There is no escaping your internal world. You can try to free yourself from your  inner torment by using external things (drugs, alcohol, junk food, work…) but afterwards you will always be right back where you started.

Obviously, external things will not fix your internal problems.

At the end of every day… there you are, with yourself in your inner world. You are stuck with yourself, so you might as well become friends!

4. Get to know who you are – JOURNAL!

Introduce yourself to… yourself.

An introduction is how most friendships begin. Journaling is a way to get to know yourself, externalize feeling, and come to realizations about your enlightenment journey.
Think of journaling as if you’re hanging out with yourself. But you will write the conversation instead of actually be speaking aloud to yourself – that makes others think you’ve finally lost it.

Begin with asking yourself the classic question “Who am I?” then write out the answer.

Don’t worry about grammar, no one but you has to read it. So, just let it flow, non-stop for 15 minutes or more.

5. Love who you are

You will become your own healer and teacher so you must trust what you tell yourself.

Positive self-esteem is essential in order for you to believe you deserve enlightenment. It will also help ensure that you reach your full potential.

Without this foundation, you will always seek external sources of validation.  Know that you are lovable and amazing.

6. Stop Resisting

Stop resisting the universe and start living effortlessly. Don’t resist learning new things. Be open to new beliefs but only accept the ones that you feel are truthful.
Flow with the universe, don’t fight against it.

Learn to accept things you can’t change. Know you only have the power to change yourself. Allow other people to live as they choose and you focus on living your ideal life.

7. Release your attachments

Be aware that attachments to things outside of yourself (cars, shoes, ideas…) will lead to an infinite cycle of suffering. Once you surrender your perceived “need”, you will experience a profound change in your mindset.

Some people become attached to emotional wounds from the past, you will need to release these memories. Shift your awareness to what good things you are doing for yourself (like reading wisdom4freedom.com!) not what you have done wrong in the past.

Girl thinking on a rock

Holding on to the past is destructive. You are only hurting yourself by holding on to a grudge. In truth, you can’t move on without forgiving yourself, others and the situation.  So, allow yourself to advance to the next level.

You will find that you don’t need to hold on to anything, when you’re free.

8. Have the ability to laugh at yourself

Laughter can pull you through the roughest of times. It relieves stress and your fight-or-flight mindset. You have got to take the time to relax and have a good time (in moderation). Spend the time to give people your undivided attention and enjoy their company.

Don’t take yourself so seriously. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. You’re not hurting anyone and it’s your right to suck horribly until you’re a badass.

If you just laugh at yourself, others will sympathize with you.

9. Create your new life

Realize the many ways you might be sabotaging your dreams. Have you been procrastinating?

Do you focus on irrelevant things when you have important shit to do?
Ask yourself what you want from your life and what you need to do to achieve your goals. Write out the steps to your goals and include DEADLINES.

10. Surround yourself with positivity

Read enlightening blogs and books, watch motivating/ inspirational YouTubes. Be mindful of the negativity in the TV shows that you watch and the music you listen to. It may not seem detrimental at the time but in excess it can impact your mindset.

Enlightenment, in the end, is about finding the best way for you to live your life. Passionately explore your path and have fun! If you’d like to be a little more enlightened each week, subscribe today!

10 Steps to Your Awakening

Awakening is the first step on the journey to enlightenment. It involves waking up and opening up your mind to see the truth. You will become more aware of who you are and what you want from life.

Have you ever had a moment where you suddenly realize the perfect solution to a problem you’ve had for a long time? That little epiphany was a tiny awakening. Imagine what you could do if you had a totally enlightened mind?power pose beach

You might have played follow-the-leader for so long, you don’t remember who you are. Maybe you don’t think enlightenment or being your best even matters, but you DO MATTER. That might sound corny but I am dead serious.

You are reading this, therefore you are human. So, I know that you are one of the most amazing living beings in the universe as far as we now know!space

Know that an awakening is a journey of growth. Continue to follow the steps below and your mind will be awakened.

1. Take time every day to be in total solitude.

Being alone in silence scares the hell out of your subconscious and it will cry like a child for you to turn on the TV or grab your cell phone but you must be a good “self parent” and say NO.

You are the boss now. You have awoken to the fact that your subconscious mind has been lying to you for your whole life. Your not going to take it anymore. You are alert and paying attention to your thoughts now.

Happy woman 2. Learn to LET GO

Do what you can, then let it go. Attachment is the root of all suffering.

Being attached to an ideal, goal, person or some material item is a recipe for disaster. If something holds all of your hope for a happy life then you are giving it too much importance.

If you do get whatever it is, you will find it makes you happy for a little bit. But that will fade almost immediately when your subconscious points out something else you don’t have.

It can be an endless cycle for the rest of your life. Be grateful and happy with what you have now.

2. Examine your beliefs.

Be cognizant about what you have chosen to believe. YOU are running the show now.

Awakening requires letting go of beliefs we’ve held for our entire lives. You have become quite accustomed to these beliefs and you might not want to let go.

You’re growing and that means letting go of things that hold you back.

3. Create a NEW story to tell yourself.

Notice and stop your subconscious from trying to whisper your old, doom and gloom tale.

Many people are stuck, wandering around the past, fixating over past negative situations or worrying about future possibilities.

Their subconscious mind tells them how they are never going to meet their dreams and how they aren’t good enough.

You will realize that you’ve been wading around in painful thoughts, bad memories, worries, and fears.

Stop torturing yourself with distorted scenarios from the past or future and start telling yourself a new, positive story.

4. Journal daily

I’ve journaled for years and I highly recommend it. It helps you to examine the inner-workings of your mind and realize new things about your life.

It really helps to get the chaos out of your head and into written words. If you save it in the cloud (on-line) you can access it from any device for when you need to vent or to note down ideas.

5. Find and Use an “Awakening Teacher” or Guru to Help You on Your Journey

There are awakening teachers out there to choose from so sample around till you find one that you like. If they act like they have never done anything wrong or stupid in their life then head for the door ASAP. But if you find one, you can gain a lot of healing and growth.

6. Practice self-compassion.

Every time that you are nice to yourself and others is a moment free from suffering.

Our subconscious can dish us out some devastating criticism. Realize that you don’t deserve that treatment!

You are a good person and you are trying to become even better. Encourage yourself and praise yourself for trying.

7. Stop the envy and self-sabotage.

Just because someone else succeeds doesn’t take away your ability for success away. They just proved that it’s possible.

You might find that self-sabotage has been holding you back. Your subconscious won’t let you see the real culprit, yourself. You might get mad at those who told you false stories and at yourself for believing them.

TANTRUM john cleese

That’s normal. Forgive and move on. There’s a good chance that the story-tellers didn’t know the truth either.

8. Gain wisdom!

An awakening occurs when you have learned something new.

Read inspirational blogs and books, watch documentaries, take a class, or talk with people who have lived totally different lives than you. When you expand your mind to allow in new ideas, you can wake up to a life you never knew was possible.

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink…

9. Try meditationrepeatedly.

You don’t have to meditate for hours just do it as long as you can. It is a great way to gain focus and creativity.

10. Stop hiding the things that make you unique.

You have nothing to be ashamed of. You’re doing your best and you’re becoming better.

If people want to hate on you then show them the door. You don’t have time for that nonsense, you’re focusing on bigger things in life.

Person looking at the sky.

In the end, be grateful to be human and to have the abilities you have. Unlike other animals, you have the ability to turn your life around, fine-tune your mind, and change the world.

Why YOU Should Be a Nonconformist

Nonconformists are the mavericks that change the world by exposing new methods of thinking or by developing inventions that result in a more vibrant society.  They challenge widely accepted theories and beliefs. These free-thinkers seek the truth like we do here at wisdom4freedom. They see the corruption that has taken over and they hide their eyes like everyone else. Nonconformists take their own path in life. It’s hard to find these intriguing characters because they are the outcasts, loners, fringe dwellers and misfits.

A nonconformist is no stranger to ridicule from others. When it comes to “fitting in” some of them decide to say “fuck it!” and quit attempting to pacify society with normalcy.

“Normal” exists as much as “perfection” and both are wastes of time because they aren’t unattainable. A nonconformist lives according to their personalized philosophies. You won’t find them joining groups that have a standardized set of beliefs in place.

Nonconformists are curious, but they don’t accept spoon-fed information. They want to discover the answers for themselves. To find their own theory they explore different avenues in life like: drugs, lifestyles, philosophies, science, and life. That doesn’t mean they’re “bad people” it means they are curious about the world and aren’t scared to experiment with life. They reject nothing without trying it (within reason, of course).

It isn’t Cool to Conform.

Conformists are people who adapt, without question, to the usual practices or standards of a group. They believe everything they hear from religion, friends, their parents or the evening news. They don’t want to spend the time and effort of finding answers for themselves. Many people don’t want to know the truth, they think it is safer to stay with the herd than to stray away.

Kids learn through various cues that being different is not OK. Being different scares children (and some adults) because they were raised to think it‘s a good thing to fit in. Conformists cringe at the thought of not “fitting in”, it makes them nauseous to even think about being ostracized from friends and possibly family. But really why would you want to hang around some assholes who refuse to accept you for who you are… even if they’re your parents.

In the past, society punished nonconformists for their free-thinking behaviors.

Thousands of nonconformists were tortured, and even murdered, just for being different. This is especially true for female nonconformists in the Salem witch trials, Marie Curie and Joan of Arc. I’m glad I live in the current time because I would of been torched if I lived back then.Today, people have changed their fear of “the different” to an awe-struck, curiosity. In fact, studies show that people think nonconformists are sexier than their standardized opponents. People are attracted to those that are confident enough to be different from everyone.

Being a nonconformist has its risks, but at least today, you won’t be snatched up and burned at the stake. You might just get more dates?

Many famous nonconformists like: Albert Einstein, Salvador Dalí, Nikola Tesla, Bob Dylan and Beck Hansen knew that it’s not easy to be different but it massively pays off in the end.

The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche stated that “The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”amazing-power-pose-mrrobot

Albert Einstein knew this truth from experience when he said “Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrity. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary.”

Some nonconformists choose to leave society so they avoid the abuse, mockery and ruthless teasing. Not because the conformists (and their attempts to manipulate others into conformity) actually effect them but because they don’t need the added stress, distractions and don’t feel the need to blend in with society anyways. They’re too busy following their dreams. They prefer to watch safely from afar as everyone in society continues to march blindly into ignorance and destruction.

Too much conformity deadens the human spirit

People can eventually forget who they even are if they conform long enough. Conformity may feel safe and cozy but the price you end up paying is living your life for others, not yourself.  So, don’t expect any group to show you the meaning of your life or to tell you the “correct” way to live.  We’re all  individuals, we shouldn’t adopt every thought or belief of a group.

“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

Fortunately, YOU are in complete control of your thoughts and beliefs.

Only your thoughts can change your life so perhaps you should re-think who’s thoughts you’ve adopted as your own? Are you living how you want to live? Where you are spending your time and money and how much stock you are putting into stranger’s opinions?

Do what you feel is right.  Buy things that you like.  Appearing like the others is detrimental to you and an insult to your unique soul.

We are here (on Earth) to find our true talent, our uniqueness and to let it blossom — regardless of anyone’s opinion.

10 Reasons NOT to Go to College

Decades ago, having a college degree meant you were sure to get the job of your dreams, but today employers are more inclined to hire you if you come toting 4 years of hands-on experience and an impressive portfolio. They’d much rather have someone who can jump right in and get to work, not someone who hands over a massively, overpriced piece of paper (degree). I even got suckered into going to college but I found that it was holding me back from succeeding in life. Full-time school plus full-time work and it eventually became too much. So, I was not doing my best work in either arena.

Finally, one semester I just didn’t sign-up for another one. I figured I needed a break. During that time I came to this epiphany… that college was one of my worst mistakes. I learned from my bosses that they really don’t care about a degree, in fact that usually means the potential employee would be expensive and not try as hard. I certainly wasn’t going back to school. Do-not-go-to-college

Here are 10 Reasons NOT to Go to College

Americans have built up a mountain of student loan debt that has soared to $1.45 TRILLION DOLLARS. The cost of going to school has shot up 500% over the last 30 years, with no added value. In fact the value of a degree has decreased.

University dropout (and self-made billionaire), Mark Cuban has stated “our future will include a bursting of the student debt bubble, a significant drop in college tuitions, and an outright collapse of America’s institution of higher learning.”

2. You Need to Start Working ASAP, Not in 4-6 Years

In essence, if you attempt to get a Bachelor’s then you will waste the next 4 to 6 YEARS of your life sitting in class, taking tests, reading unnecessary books and listening to lectures on irrelevant subjects, all day, every day.

College is a waste of time and money

By the time you graduate, your peers who went to work right after high school, could own a thriving company or 2!

Can you imagine how well off you’d be if you invested  the money you would have wasted in school? If you got an IRA, high yield savings account, stocks, residual income streams or started a company,  you would probably be set for the rest of your life!

If you wait till you get a degree before you get into your desired field, you might realize you don’t even like that industry. Thus, wasting many thousands of dollars and multiple years for nothing.

Today needed skills and technologies are advancing in a ferocious speed. There’s no time to write a textbook, setup a curriculum, have people apply for the class and before the students sat down, the information would be old news.

Meanwhile, the self-taught, entrepreneurs are working, fine-tuning their skills, learning by trying, and networking.

3. A Degree Doesn’t Guarantee or Entitle You to Get Your Dream Job

Many people will graduate from college, in the hopes that they get their dream job.  Only to realize they can’t get hired and end up moving back to their parent’s house. They find that after all that school they still will struggle to achieve their perfect career because employers aren’t as impressed with their degree as they had hoped.

One of the highest expenses for employers across every industry is on-the-job training. Employers want to hire people with experience, not book smarts.

They don’t tell you these realities in the college’s advertisements. Watch what an honest university’s commercial would look like. It’s funny and so true.

4. We Don’t Need to Know Most of the Things We Learn in the Classroom

Educational institutes don’t teach skills that will help you live a successful, productive life after graduation.

The following important life lessons are free and require no professors:

  • Resiliency: Failure is normal, how to get over it.
  • Relationships: Business and Personal
  • Emotional Coping Skills
  • Organizing, planning and following through 101
  • Goal setting and attaining
  • Win/Win business deals
  • Budgeting
  • Maintaining your home, cars and computers
  • Character building

5. University Core Classes Waste Half of Your Education and Your Money

Most of core classes don’t benefit you and have nothing to do with your major. These mandatory courses involve reading irrelevant (on your future career) books, memorizing answers and filling in bubbles on Scantrons. Those activities unnecessary and won’t be used outside of the classroom.

6. Getting an Education Sets You up to Become a Loyal, Hard Working Slave

“The best slave is the one who thinks he is free.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The moment after you are hired you lose many of your human rights (privacy, speech, and so on), you will scamper around according to your master’s strict agenda, you get punished if you upset them. Your employer wants you to think you’re valuable to the company, but you are just another “human resource” and your boss can replace you like a used tool. You have merged into the faceless mass obeying and worshiping the company owner because he is the reason you get a fixed, minuscule amount of the company’s earnings on payday.

You need that paycheck so you can pay… your student loans.

John Cleese Temper Tantrum

Kash Shaikh stated on his site besomebody.com that the educational system is broken and is about putting people in boxes, defining you and confining you. It’s about what grades you make, not what difference you make. College is about how well you mimic, mime and memorize, not how much you craft, contribute and create.

7. College is STRESSFUL

College student studying

The 2nd leading cause of death in college students is suicide. The finals, the exams, the projects, the assignments they all fill up your schedule. If you can’t afford to live in the dorms and you don’t want to live with your parents, then you are going to need a job while still maintaining your grades.

8. The Proof That You Don’t Need a Degree to Become Rich and Successful

Listen to what Elon Musk has to say about getting a degree.

These massively successful leaders do not have a college degree:

  • Bill Gates (Microsoft Windows)
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Steve Jobs (Apple)
  • Mark Zuckerburg (Facebook)
  • Elizabeth Arden
  • Ralph Lauren
  • Russell Simmons
  • Brad Pitt

Did you know the founders of WordPress, Dropbox, Spotify, Twitter, Dell, Mattel and Hobby Lobby never wasted time getting a degree?

9. The WORST Way to Make Money Is by Working for Someone Else

In the event that you find employment, you will make the company tons of money but you will receive the same paycheck every week. If your performance starts to dip, you can could be fired at any moment. Isn’t that a comforting thought?

10. Most of the information you need to start your own business is on the Internet.

Learning online instead of college

Become a self-taught expert in your field. There are massive amounts of information on this device you are staring at right now. So, take advantage of YouTube tutorials, on-line courses, websites and e-books so you can learn the skills you need to succeed. FREE! Google how to get started and START.

In the end, if you do or don’t attend college, that is up to you (whether your parents like it or not). Use some time to search for your passion in life. Then follow it.

LSD: The Cure for PTSD?

14% of the US population will suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at some point in their life. PTSD can develop after a person survives a traumatic situation or witnesses something terrifying. Common traumas are physical, mental abuse; accidents, sexual, natural disasters or combat.

Those who have PTSD typically have trouble functioning normally again after the trauma. Sufferers can transform into a person who is constantly on edge, anxious, unable to sleep, paranoid, depressed and isolated.

This fear instills isolation. Eventually leaving just a lifeless, shell of who they once were. This is the reason PTSD frequently leads to alcoholism, drug addiction and in some cases, suicide.

LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) AKA “Acid”

LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is a non-addictive, psychedelic drug that was discovered by Dr. Albert Hofmann in 1938. He discovered the effects of LSD in 1943, when he spilled some of it on his skin. He started feeling strange and decided ride his bike home. That must have been quite a ride!

When Dr. Hofmann got home he entered a wild (somewhat scary) mind-expanding, reality (and his wife was in for a bit of a surprise as well!) Luckily, the next day, he woke up and his mind was back to normal. He knew he must find an explanation for what had happened to him.

He began to experiment with LSD on patients and he found that

“Each individual who experiences LSD enters another reality. He enters another world seemingly even more real than actual reality. “

From the 1950s to the early 1970s, psychiatrists and researchers gave 1000’s of doses of LSD to people as a treatment for alcoholism, addictions, anxiety and depression in people with terminal illnesses.

This drug was helping people!

After the experiment, some patients described that it seemed like LSD had created more “connections” in their brain. In fact, this looks to be true.nerves-3115722_960_720

Brain Scans: On LSD vs Normal

Brain scans of people who are tripping on LSD show their brains are lit up brightly, illuminated with activity all over the brain.

Whereas the normal (placebo), non-tripping brain’s activity was only activated in few specific areas – the rest of the brain remaining dark and seemingly unactivated.Brain scans revealed that the tripper can have “visuals” through many parts of their brain, not just the visual cortex. Parts of the brain that never connected with other areas, were now communicating.

Acid Helps to Treat Mental Disorders

The subconscious mind wants to mull over the same information and do the same things, day in and day out. This keeps us stuck in life repeatedly doing automatic, core behaviors.

The reason PTSD, anxiety and depression are so hard to treat is because people are trying to cover up the disorder with pills. Surprise! That shit doesn’t work!

You must treat the core issue, or underlying reason, for the disorder.

Ideally, people who decide to trip, should think and talk about their issues with a therapist. The therapist works with them through the trip, in order for them to gain a new, more profound meaning from the experience.

Therapeutic Acid trips can alleviate depression, anxiety and help people conquer addiction.

Patients have stated that when they were tripping, they could see their issues from a new perspective and they can then gain insights into their past behaviors and reactions. They emerge with an upgraded, positive outlook on life.

Psychological disorders can affect people for their entire lives, sometimes consuming all of their quality of life. For treatment resistant people, no matter what they try, they cannot seem to get well again, LSD may be the only possible cure for them.

There is a good amount of evidence regarding the benefits of psychedelics treating psychological disorders, but we still need more. Currently, privately funded organizations are left to do most of the research.

Hopefully soon we can end the war on drugs and instead of fearing them, learn about their potential benefits.

The Most Evil Religious People in the World

Religion is okay in moderation but it can consume your life and your sanity. You might eventually realize that the religion myth you to believe was a story to scare you into acting right.

We are much smarter than we were 2,000 years ago. People are realizing that religion is a waste of money, time and focus. Many people don’t want to give up  religion because they like belonging to a group.

You could still join groups. Check out meetup.com I’m sure you’ll find a fun group and I am sure they won’t threaten you with eternal damnation. What if you spent a moment before a meal to express gratitude for your current life and the people you have in it?

Learning the truth shocking and sad at first. It’s just as painful as when you where little and you learned that Santa Claus, the Tooth fairy, and the Easter bunny were illusions to make you behave and feel all special and happy inside. When you realized the truth, you were sad for a little while, but you got over it. It’d be quite odd if you still believed in Santa.

Modern people have more common sense and self-control than societies 2,000 years ago. You don’t need religion to make sure that you don’t murder or rape anyone. It’s also best if you don’t steal or lie.

“Sinning” will mess up your life even if you don’t get caught. Whether you’re punished with bad situations or mental anguish, you will suffer. Chances are with today’s technology and forensics, you will get caught and karma’s a bitch.

Religion doesn’t make you a good person and the following people are proof of that.

The Worst of All People Were Religious

I’m sure you have heard of a little Christian group called the Ku Klux Klan. They were/are a bundle of ignorant dumbasses and an embarrassment of American history. They were hell-bent on the belief that they were enforcing “God’s law” by torturing and killing people who weren’t like them.

They believed they were the “chosen” people (the white race). That’s laughable because their Bible states that the JEWS were the chosen race. What a bunch of idiots!  They have murdered and tortured blacks, Jews, and gays since the Civil War!

Ed Gein

Ever hear about a guy named Ed Gein? Ed inspired the movies Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Psycho”.

Religion messed him up real bad! His mother was a big-time, devout, Puritan who drilled her preachings into little Eddie’s brain until her death in 1945. He was close with his mother and he became deranged when she was gone.

Ed remembered his mom’s religious preachings about the sins of lust and how sexually active single people should go to hell.

He felt it was his job to take down the “sinners” himself.

Ed never dated and never had sex … well … not with another living human. He wasn’t a lady’s man but he was a lady-killer!

His hobbies at the time were: lurking around cemeteries, killing women, digging up female corpses to sex with them and tennis. He also enjoyed making human face masks (made with real skin!) Not to mention his assortment of skin lamps, belts, and skull bowls. Unfortunately for him… The Ed Gein Collection never took off.

How about that religious cult leader Charles Manson?

Manson used persuasion, drugs, and religion to train his followers to do his bidding. His cult robots did everything for him, including murder.

If anyone tells you to kill someone, they are controlling you. They don’t care if you died in the act. You’re nothing to them. You should leave that person or group and never go back.

Religious Cult Leader Vernon Wayne Howell (Waco, TX Massacre)

The Branch Davidians, a sect that separated from the Seventh-Day Adventist church. The young Vernon Wayne Howell memorized the New Testament by 11 and impregnated a 15-year-old when he was 19. It appears he forgot a few verses.

By 1983, he was kicked out of a 7th Day Adventist Church for fooling around with the pastor’s daughter! Vernon went crazy (or more so than before) and began calling himself a prophet. He was able to gain followers because of his good looks and magnetic personality. He eventually claimed he was Jesus Christ.

weird He moved his followers to a ranch in Waco, TX. Officials attempted to invade the ranch for suspected gun violations and ended up with for government officials being killed.

So, the FBI jumped on the scene and battled the Branch Davidians for 51 days. They ended up torching the ranch and killing 76 people and children.

Horrible! These are just a few examples of how religion can make you lose touch with reality and go crazy.

So, Beware of Religious People

I’m not saying all religious people are evil, I just mean don’t assume people are good because they’re religious. In some cases, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Leaving kids with a priest is a bad idea.

You don’t want your son to turn out like this guy!

If you do bad things, you can bet bad things will happen to you. Your life will become a “living hell”.
