Do-You-Have-The-Symptoms-of-a Genius?

Do You Have the Symptoms of Genius?

Are you a genius? Maybe you are!? See if you have the following symptoms of supreme intellect. Perhaps, they describe someone you know?

The Symptoms:

1. They are Night Owls

Psychology Today states that intelligent people are more likely to be nocturnal than people with lower IQ scores.

The rates of sleep achieved in hours per night declines as the average IQ level raises. They come alive once the sun goes down and all the “distractions” go to sleep.

Then, they are free to work undisturbed for hours on end. Are they depressed and lonely all night alone? Hell no! They are exploding with ideas and creations. They need and enjoy alone time to gather their thoughts and to dream up new things.

2. Experimentation with Alcohol and Drugs.

Geniuses are drug connoisseurs. They are natural risk-takers so making drugs illegal only makes them more intriguing. Geniuses are usually nonconformist types, that tend to question society’s rules.

Some buy over-the-counter pills and others go to their doctor for “the good shit”. That stuff will kill you.

Stephen King got high as hell on Xanax, Valium, cocaine, NyQuil, alcohol, and pot while he wrote.

Edgar Allan Poe was a brilliant drunkard.

Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs all enjoyed tripping on acid to further open their minds.

3.  Atheism

Highly intelligent people have let go of the religious stories. They are aware of what is going on around them and they see it doesn’t follow the ancient narration.

They can see that there aren’t angels floating above everyone… ever. They have flown in an airplane and saw that on top of the clouds there isn’t a “heaven”, in fact, there aren’t any deities from any religion, no golden roads, gates or virgins! What a rip off!

Atheists have on average 6 to 7 more IQ points than religious people. Coincidence? Or maybe they know something the masses don’t?

4. Mental Illness.

You don’t have to be insane to be a genius, but it helps.

OCD and ADHD are very common amongst geniuses. I’ve been diagnosed with both disorders.

I don’t wash my hands repeatedly or do the physical rituals. It’s impossible for me to be a neat freak. I can’t keep a clear space on my desk to save my life.

It’s more of an obsessive thought variety of OCD. If something sparks my interest, I can dive into it way deeper than others. Having an insatiable thirst for knowledge certainly helps as well!

You might call these traits “disorders” but they can be beneficial. The key is not to let them get out of control. If you harness these powerful mental abilities, you could change the world.

5. You Enjoy Being Alone.

Time spent alone is good for the soul. In your alone time, you can meditate, read, write, paint, play an instrument… the list goes on.

But it’s not all fun and games…

Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.”   ― Albert Einstein

Being extremely smart is not the “gift” you might imagine. The life of a genius is typically quite painful. Members of society see someone that’s different and they have to flip out and point the finger at them.

6. Weirdness.

Prodigies are famous for the many quirks that outcast them from their peers.

Tesla was afraid of human hair (maybe that’s why he “dated” a pigeon?). Da Vinci was a huge procrastinator with strong ADHD tendencies. SQUIRREL!

Do You Have the Symptoms of Genius?

Being strange is just part of the territory.

7. Using “bad words”

I believe that there is no such thing as bad words (except for negative words regarding some one’s race or sexual preference). We’ve all been taught that people who cuss are unintelligent and probably lack vocabulary. Au contraire! Scientists have found that the amount of swear words you know is linked to the expression of feelings and thoughts. The number of cuss words one can name in under a minute correlates with high IQ.

If you found that you and geniuses don’t have much in common, be thankful that you aren’t one!

Know that geniuses are not better than you are. They think about things in a unique way. I’m sure you have abilities that geniuses don’t have.

You Can Unleash Your Genius!

Intelligence can be contagious (so can stupidity) so be aware of who you surround yourself with. You can gain some free IQ points for having a real mastermind in your life to show you the way and to give you advice.

Find a supremely smart person to be your role model. Learn how they think, what they do, how they live. Then think and act in different ways than you do normally.

Geniuses help others to gain valuable wisdom and creativity. So, if you find one out in public or even online. Study them.

9 INSANE Facts About Your Subconscious

Your subconscious mind has been working every second, since before your birth, to keep you alive. It’s pumping your heart right now. If it ever took a 15 minute break, you would be dead before it came back.

Your subconscious mind runs most of your life itself… and you thought you were running things? It prefers to work in secret, behind the scenes. Many people are not consciously aware of it at all. The Subconscious mind is the area of the mind that hides under the level of conscious perception.

Allow me to introduce you to your subconscious mind with these 9 amazing (and disturbing) facts.

1. It is always watching you and recording  your life experiences.

When you nod off in front of the TV, your subliminal mind stays active and is still listening and continues to archive everything in your surroundings. It’s quite the dedicated stalker!

2. The subconscious never forgets anything that ever happened to you.

It’s too bad it doesn’t play well with the conscious, otherwise you could recall any moment in your life.  For example, you might come across some random object or place from your past and it will trigger your emotions to freak out. Even if you don’t remember anything about that past situation, the subconscious does.

3. It tries to communicate to you while you are sleeping.

The subconscious doesn’t know how to directly speak to you, although it can convey images, and metaphors while you’re dreaming. These clues can help you to solve major issues in your life.

Unfortunately, dreams are difficult to remember but you can utilize lucid dreaming techniques to interact with your subconscious to learn information about yourself and to have more power (and fun) during your dreams.

Because the subconscious communicates with imagery, put some pictures of your dream life in a place that you will see often. Dream boards work because the photos speak to your unconscious psyche.

4. It is 1,000,000 times as powerful as the conscious mind.

LifeTrainings.com states that “Studies from as far back as the seventies show that our brains begin to prepare for action just over a third of a second before we consciously decide to act. In other words, even when we ‘think’ we are conscious, it is our unconscious mind which is actually making our decisions for us.”

5. It can’t tell time and it doesn’t recognize negative words.

The subconscious only perceives the present time and positive words. So if you use positive affirmations to re-program your subconscious, speak in a way that it can comprehend. It can’t grasp “no” or negative words like “don’t” or “won’t”. Therefore toss out any affirmations that say those words and rewrite them in a current and positive way. For example, when you say “I won’t eat doughnuts anymore.”, the dim-witted subconscious thinks “DOUGHNUTS??!!? YAY! WHERE!?”.

So if you want to be rich, then say “I am a millionaire.”. Or you could say “I am always confident.” or “I am amazing.”. It must be present tense and positive.

6. It also hogs 90% of your brain

On average, the conscious only uses 10% of the brain. The glutenous subconscious takes a whopping 90% of the brain.

7.  The subconscious is… kind of an ….idiot savant.

Although the subconscious is powerful, it has the cognitive level of a 2 to 8-year-old child, yet it is also called the “infinite intelligence”.

8. It takes everything literally.

Your subconscious does not know the difference between a situation you’ve imagined or real life. If you visualize yourself practicing a skill or sport, it will think it absolutely happened and you will improve as if you actually did it. It is what makes you feel fear while watching a scary movie. It thinks the images on the screen are truly happening. For such an intelligent area of the brain, it is quite foolish and naive.

9. It is not a logical mind like the conscious, it is a feeling mind.

Whenever you think or say “I feel ____.” the feeling originates from your subconscious mind. Don’t believe every emotion you feel, know that it derives from an illogical and irrational mind. If you tell it a phrase enough, it will believe it, no matter how ridiculous it is! What you feel may not be what is really going on.

What will you get your mind to believe today?
