How to Communicate with Your Subconscious Mind

Your subconscious mind is a treasure chest of wisdom and knowledge. It is the key to changing anything in your life. It runs your life every day. But we can’t consciously communicate with it. Have you programmed it for success and happiness? Or misery and torment?

Most people don’t know how to communicate with their subconscious even though it uses 90% of the human brain. It controls what you do every day without you even knowing it. By learning to speak it’s language and telling it what you want in life, you can reprogram it.

You have 2 minds, the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is used for active thinking, talking, reading, logic, and reason. While the subconscious controls body functions, memory storage, habits, and emotions.

When you discover how to access your subconscious mind, your entire world changes. You’ll understand yourself on a more profound level and you’ll be more intuitive. Situations will begin to work in your favor and you’ll start accomplishing long-held goals.

You can access your subconscious with the following steps.

1. Write Down What You Want from Your Subconscious

Write out what you want your subconscious to tell you.

What problem do you most need to be solved right now? You can ask it what your next steps should be or if something is a good idea or not.

Perhaps, you want to change how you feel about yourself, situations or other people? It knows everything about you and has been recording every second of your life. It forgets nothing.

Also, write your list with pen-to-paper. Handwriting is more closely linked with the subconscious mind than typing.

2. Perspective Is Everything

You experience things not how they are but as who you are. The perception you have of yourself can ruin your life or enhance it.

Think of a negative belief that you have about yourself. Now say the opposite of the old belief. Repeat this until it becomes your default perception.

It will take about 21 days (sometimes up to 90 days) to get your subconscious to take your command seriously. It will then start to embed its code into your brain, physically altering its structure. This will change how you experience life, long-term.

After a while you won’t need to make yourself think or act in the ideal way because it will be automatic.

3. Visualization

The subconscious is difficult to communicate with because it doesn’t speak words, it communicates with images and emotions. This is why you can’t get yourself to change with logic and reason. The conscious mind understands the words subconscious can only communicate with repetition, images, and emotions.

If you repeatedly visualize (with emotion) yourself living your dream life then your subconscious mind will understand you. It will then guide your default actions to make the visualization a reality. Sounds pretty strange, but it’s true.

The subconscious mind is a major reason that the Law of Attraction works. If you imagine your dream life regularly, it will make you aware of any opportunities to get you closer to that imagined life. It will fill your head with ideas of ways to get you to that reality step by step. Soon that dream life will be your reality.

For example, if you want to be successful in business, imagine yourself working at your dream job. If you want to get in shape then visualize yourself with a perfect body.

10 Habits that will Dramatically Improve Your Life

Do this at least once per day or as much as you can. Your subconscious will direct your actions towards that goal.

It will believe the image is real if you visualize it enough (while feeling the emotions you’d feel it was your current reality).

4. Repetition

The subconscious believes everything it’s told often enough. We create who we are by what we tell our naive subconscious. If you tell yourself negative things then that will become your reality.

Instead, try speaking a positive sentence out loud in the present tense. The subconscious doesn’t understand the past or future, but it does understand the present time.

For example:

  • I am confident and happy.”
  • I can do this!”
  • Today is going to be amazing.”
  • I love my life.”
  • I’m so lucky and grateful for all I have in my life.”

Feel the emotion of the phrase as if it were true. Do this repeatedly and soon you will program your subconscious to believe it.

5. Meditate

Meditation is one of the oldest methods of training the mind. It also can help you hear what your inner-self (subconscious) is trying to say.

It’s not hard to do and it’s free. Wear some comfortable clothes, sit up straight, close your eyes then focus on your breathing.

Let thoughts pass through but re-focus on your breath. Start out with 2 minutes of meditation. Set a timer on your phone and try it now.

6. Create Art

Make something or zone out in a creative pastime. If you don’t have a hobby you can watch a YouTube tutorial on drawing or painting. Then let your subconscious mind let loose and express itself.

Creativity will also help you become more intuitive.

7. Listen to Your Intuition

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” – Albert Einstein

Your intuition is the ability to know something instinctively without any facts. The unconscious mind knows everything we want to know. Start listening to its wisdom. It will tell you what you should do next.

8. Lucid Dreaming

Each time we fall sleep we let go of consciousness. The subconscious mind takes over and we enter dreamland.

How can we take control of this precious subconscious experience? By using lucid dreaming.

This happens when you’re sleeping and you realize that you are dreaming. You can then take control of the dream or ask your subconscious questions.

Tell yourself repeatedly that you are going to recognize when you are dreaming. Visualize yourself taking control of your dreams.

Write out everything that you remember right after you wake up. This will train your conscious to conn8. Lucid Dreamingect with the subconscious mind.

To find out if you’re dreaming you can pinch your nose and see if you can still breathe through it. If you can then you’re dreaming.

9. Be Consistent

Make it a point to practice these steps as often as possible. Remember, repetition is key. The unconscious mind loves an endless loop.

In short, communicating with your subconscious mind will benefit your life. You can re-program your mindset by saying positive statements.

Change any negative perspective you have in your life because the subconscious will ensure what you believe becomes your reality.
